Clashes seem to be the order of the day this year. With every film looking at making the most of the many extended weekends, there is an inevitable rush to release a film on the same date. And while a little bit of competition is good every now and then, the fact that clashes eat away into the business of both the films, can’t be denied. But, considering that the year has only 52 weeks and there are far more releases than that in Bollywood itself, perhaps the sooner that filmmakers make peace with clashes, the better.
While we are still reeling under confusion what with Padmaavat, Pad Man and Aiyaary rescheduling, we have yet another clash in the making. So, it is confirmed that John Abraham’s Parmanu will clash with Anushka Sharma’s Pari at the box office on the extended Holi weekend. Both the films are vying to release on March 2, which is when the festival of colours will be celebrated this year. Both films are poles apart in terms of their genre, so that shouldn’t pose a problem but for the chunk of audience that would want to watch both the films, a clash means they would have to choose. Well, in that case, we would love to know as to which film would you want to watch over the Holi holidays? To make your choice easier, here are a few details about the films…
Parmanu, directed by Abhishek Sharma, is all about how Indians secretly carried out the Pokhran nuclear tests, even hoodwinking the eagle eyes of the US’ highly advanced intelligence, and declaring itself as a nuclear state. The first look which was released a few months back was quite an intriguing one with John’s mustachioed look becoming a talking point.
While not much is known about Anushka Sharma’s Pari, it is clear from the posters that it is a spine-chilling horror film. The posters have set the bar quite high for the film and it will be great to see the team deliver on the promise of being an actual scary flick. After all, it is not often that one sees good horror films made in Bollywood, right?
With this, we now let you do the talking. Vote below and let us know which film will be your pick on the first weekend of March…
